At the VIP area of the Heydar Aliyev Stadium, Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, Ersin Tatar, the President of Northern Cyprus, Mohammed Shtayyeh, the Prime Minister of Palestine, Edi Rama, the Prime Minister of Albania, Ayman Ben Abdel Rahman, the Prime Minister of Algeria, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, the Minister of Sports of Saudi Arabia and President of the Federation of Islamic Solidarity Games, and Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee were present. Erdogan watched the parade of Turkish athletes participating in the Islamic Solidarity Games. Following speeches by Mohammed Muharrem Kasapoğlu, the Minister of Sports and Youth of Turkey, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, the games were officially opened.
