President Erdogan announced that the minimum wage set for 2023 has been determined to be 8,500 lira net, which represents a 54.66 percent increase compared to July 2022. The minimum wage applied in 2023 will be 10,008 lira gross and 8,506 lira net. According to the presidential announcement, a government support of 250 lira will be allocated for each worker. Erdogan, speaking at a press conference held at the Presidential Building with the Minister of Labour and Social Security Vedat Bilgin and the President of the Turkish Employers' Confederation (TİSK) Ozgur Burak Akol, stated that, as in every year, a decision will be made this year regarding the minimum wage for the next year.
The minimum wage is 8,500 liras.

He also emphasized that sincere efforts have been made to reach a reasonable point of agreement between the parties. Erdogan continued: "While the global crisis has severely impacted even developed countries, Turkey's continued progress on the international stage is being pursued with vigor." He stressed that Turkey utilizes any achievement to improve the quality of life for all 85 million citizens.
