10,000 illegal immigrants have been deported.
The General Directorate of Migration Management of the Ministry of Interior of Turkey announced the expulsion of 10,520 illegal migrants from Turkey in the first month of the current year.
Since the beginning of this year, 1,503 illegal migrants from Afghanistan have been deported through nine charter flights from Ağrı, Erzurum, Kocaeli, Malatya, Kütahya, and Ankara.
According to the statement, the total number of illegal migrants deported in the first month of the new year, along with other nationalities, has reached 10,520, and effective measures at the borders have prevented the entry of 20,295 illegal migrants into the country. As a result of investigations conducted to detect and uncover individuals who had entered our country illegally, 9,284 illegal migrants were apprehended.
Additionally, in 2022, 124,441 illegal migrants were deported through 237 charter flights and scheduled flights. The year 2022 marked the highest number of deportations in the history of the country.
