President Erdogan has declared a seven-day national mourning period due to the earthquake in Turkey and the loss of citizens' lives.
Additionally, all schools have been announced to be closed for seven days.
Two earthquakes measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale occurred in the Pazarcik region of Kahramanmaraş in the Elbistan area. Following the earthquakes that caused damage in 10 cities, buildings collapsed, and many people lost their lives.
Erdogan stated in a post on his Twitter account: Due to the earthquakes on February 6 in our country, a seven-day national mourning has been declared. The flag of our country will be flown at half-mast at all national and foreign diplomatic missions until sunset on Sunday, February 12.
Following the announcement of national mourning, the flags of Turkey at the presidential palace, public buildings, and foreign representation offices across the country have been lowered to half-mast.
