Sila says her passion for music began at the age of three, when she first realized her talent while singing a song she had memorized from the radio.
Sila, noting that she was quite mischievous in school and not a diligent student, said: “I loved French class. After a year of studying French language and literature at Istanbul University, I realized I wanted to pursue music, so I dropped out and started singing jazz.
Seventh and eighth-grade students, Sila Gençoğlu, the orchestra leader, and Burak Erkoul, the composer, gathered to discuss music and their views on art, as well as the impact of technology on music and art.
When asked how she got into music, Sila mentioned that the journey began after her mother noticed a song she had heard on the radio and memorized at the age of three.
Sila remarked that while she was at school, she was very mischievous and not a hard-working student, although she loved her French class and, as she puts it, chased after mischief.
She stated that after a year of studying French language and literature at Istanbul University, she realized she wanted to devote herself to music and dropped out to pursue jazz.
