Second Round of Elections in Turkey

As the results of the presidential and vice-presidential election held on May 14, 2023, were announced, the possibility of the elections going to a second round was brought into question.
According to unofficial information that has been published, it seems that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu have received less than 50+1 percent of the votes. Therefore, the likelihood of a runoff election increases. Here we present the electoral calendar of YSK and the schedule for the second round of elections in 2023...
On Sunday, May 14, 2023, Turkey went to the polls for the presidential election and the 28th parliamentary elections. Over 50 million voters cast their votes at 190,736 polling stations across the country. Based on unofficial information, while Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu remain below 50+1 percent of the votes, the possibility of a second round of elections is strengthened.
If a sufficient majority is not achieved in the first round, the presidential elections of 2023 will go to a second round. According to the YSK's schedule for the second round of elections, the second round will take place in May.
For this reason, "If the elections go to a second round, when will they be held, how many days later will they be repeated, and who is eligible to vote?" investigations accelerated, so if they do go to a second round, when will the elections take place?

According to the YSK electoral calendar, if an absolute majority of valid votes is not obtained in the first voting during the 2023 general elections, the second round will be held on May 28.
