Turkey's Roadmap for Joining the European Union

Turkey is moving towards completing the remaining 6 criteria after fulfilling 66 out of 72 conditions set by the European Union for a visa waiver. Freedom of expression, without compromising the "fight against terrorism," which is one of the most sensitive issues, will be expanded further.
The roadmap for Turkey's EU membership has been outlined. It is said that this process will be resumed regarding the 6 criteria that must be met out of the 72 for the visa exemption for Turkish citizens.
With the resumption of negotiations, updating the Customs Union agreement is one of the topics Turkey will prioritize.
However, changes have been set in motion regarding the anti-terrorism law, which is one of the 6 criteria.
It is said that "freedom of expression" can be expanded without compromising the red lines in the fight against terrorism.
Diplomatic sources indicate that as international relations with Turkey soften, steps can be taken to ensure that our counterparts demonstrate a greater understanding of Turkey's red lines in various areas.

In other words, Turkey will now examine the issue of granting citizenship to refugees more carefully.
Diplomatic sources state that refugees are one of the most significant matters regarding the visa exemption for Turkish citizens, "They are individuals who obtain citizenship of Turkey and then move to Europe."
The European Union also has much work ahead.
As long as Turkey adequately protects its borders, ensures that the migration of refugees to EU countries is prevented, and makes progress on the remaining 6 issues.

Review of Sweden's NATO Membership

While President Erdoğan referred to Sweden's NATO membership in a parliamentary session upon returning from Vilnius, it has been revealed that Sweden's membership will reach the Foreign Affairs Committee in October.
It was announced that Sweden's NATO membership may be approved as a "preliminary statement" by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament in October; however, it will be noted whether Sweden meets the conditions set forth by Turkey in the General Assembly process.
Diplomatic sources evaluate this process as follows: "Sweden is not a decisive country in the European Union, but the determining factors in the EU, such as Germany and France, want the interests of both Turkey and Sweden to be preserved simultaneously.
There is no discussion about Turkey's immediate membership in the European Union, but they do not want to keep Sweden waiting for an extended period.

The remaining six clauses from the 72 clauses of the European Union

-Anti-Terrorism Law: One of the toughest issues in negotiations is the anti-terrorism law. Brussels is calling for alignment of the definitions of organized crime and terrorism with "security and personal liberty, the right to a fair trial, freedom of expression, and assembly" in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and EU standards.
-Combating Corruption: The European Union demands an operational program to combat corruption and the establishment of an institution to monitor it. Regulations to combat corruption in line with the recommendations of the Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO) are necessary.
-Cooperation with EUROPOL: Cooperation with the European Police Service (EUROPOL) and new regulations in the personal data protection law.
-Protection of Personal Data: Regulations regarding personal data.
-Legal Consultations with EU Members: The most challenging issue in this clause is that Ankara does not recognize the Greek Cypriot government.
-Acceptance Agreement: Turkey has taken on significant responsibility in preventing the passage of Syrian refugees to Europe with the commencement of the implementation of the readmission agreement. However, the EU argues that there are some issues regarding the implementation of the readmission protocols bilaterally.
