The Release of 11 New Films in Turkey
A total of 11 films, three of which are domestic, will be released in cinemas this week.
The American comedy and drama "Haunted Mansion" depicts events when a mother and her son seek help from self-proclaimed spiritualists to save their home from supernatural intruders.
Directed by Justin Simien, the film stars Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis, Owen Wilson, Rosario Dawson, Jared Leto, and Golden Globe winner Danny DeVito.
"Our Debt"
John Suvorov, Metin Keçeci, and Salahaddin Tashdouan play the lead roles in the comedy "Our Debt," directed by Abbas Karatkin.
This film reflects the tragic story of a university graduate named Murat who borrows money under the pretext of interest, while also suffering from unemployment. His struggle to find money to pay off his debt and the misfortunes he encounters in the process form the main theme of the film.
"Shadow Soldier: Deadly Confrontation in Istanbul"
The Russian production "Shadow Soldier: Deadly Confrontation in Istanbul" deals with events that unfold in Istanbul when an agent named Shadow is in pursuit of a former Russian agent who has vanished with state secrets.
Directed by Ilya Kulikov and Anya Mirohina and filmed in Moscow and Istanbul, this film features Tatiana Babenkova, Iman Baisaeva, and Martin Cook in the leading roles.
Three Jacques Tati Films in Cinemas
Three classic films by the famous French director Jacques Tati, featuring the adventures of the character Monsieur Hulot, are set to screen once again in Turkey after many years.
The French comedy “My Uncle,” directed by Tati in 1958, humorously narrates the story of Monsieur Hulot, who struggles to adapt to the world of technology.
The film “Playtime,” by this renowned director, focuses on the disappearance of Hulot as he attempts to meet someone for work in Paris, which is filled with modern gadgets, while coincidentally encountering American tourist Barbara.
“Mr. Hulot’s Holiday” follows the lovable and clumsy Hulot in search of relaxation at a seaside resort, where chaos trails him wherever he goes.
