Increase of Salaries for Government Employees and Pensioners

The ruling from the court determining the salary increases for government employees and pensioners for the years 2024 and 2025 has been published in the official newspaper.

This process, which began on August 1, concluded after several meetings between the employers' committee and the employee representatives, during which no agreement was reached at the negotiation table.

When the parties failed to come to an agreement regarding the salary increase for the years 2024 and 2025, the public employee arbitration board stepped in.

The court announced its decision on August 31. Accordingly, it was decided that a 15% increase plus an additional 10% for the year 2024 and a 6% increase plus an additional 5% for the year 2025 would be implemented.

It was also decided that the difference in inflation will be paid every six months.

In the government statement following this decision, it has been emphasized that support for employees against inflation will continue within the framework of a social governmental agreement.

The rate of salary increase for government employees was accepted by a vote of 6 members of the government employees' arbitration board, which consists of 11 members.

The established rates will also affect the age of 65 and disability and home care benefits.

Additionally, the text of this ruling includes many new regulations, including the provision of 3600 additional indicators, clothing, and updates to food assistance.

The decision of the government employees' court was recently published in the official newspaper, and thus, it is final. The date of implementation will be valid for a period of 2 years starting from January 1, 2024.
