Two terrorists who intended to attack the Ministry of Interior in Ankara were neutralized. A significant number of police teams were dispatched to the area. The public prosecutor’s office in Ankara has initiated an investigation regarding this incident.
In response to the sound of explosions and gunfire near the Ministry of Interior building, police forces implemented extensive security measures in the area.
Atatürk Boulevard has been closed to traffic due to the sound of an explosion near the Çankaya Gate and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
Special operations police also arrived at the scene. Firefighting and medical teams are present as well.

Statement from Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya


Ali Yerlikaya, the Minister of Interior, announced that two terrorists arrived around 9:30 AM in a light commercial vehicle at the entrance of the General Directorate of Security of the Ministry of Interior, where they carried out a bombing, injuring two police officers slightly.
He also added, "During this bombing, two of our police officers were injured slightly. I wish a swift recovery for our heroes. Our fight will continue relentlessly until the last terrorist is neutralized."

Ban on News Broadcasting


Abubakir Şahin, the head of the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), commented on the bomb attack in Ankara.
Şahin stated: "Following the terrorist attack in Ankara, the relevant court has decided to prohibit the broadcasting of news about it. It is important for our broadcasters to adhere to this ban carefully. I would like to thank journalists in advance."

Controlled Explosion in Ankara


The Ankara police announced that a controlled explosion will take place for security purposes on Cumhuriyet Street in Ankara.
The statement from the Ankara police is as follows:
"As part of the Kızılay Güvenpark area and the General Directorate of Security, necessary security measures will be taken regarding suspicious packages and a controlled explosion will be carried out by bomb disposal teams. Respectfully, it is announced that citizens should not panic and refrain from entering these areas.
