A total of 69 thousand personnel will be on duty during the Eid al-Fitr holiday in traffic

Minister of the Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced in a statement posted on his social media account that during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, traffic measures will be implemented with the presence of 47,749 police personnel and 21,262 gendarmerie personnel, making a total of 69,011 personnel on duty.

Yerlikaya also stated that traffic monitoring will continue until April 8 and that the goal of these measures is to reduce accidents and preserve people's lives.

He further added:

"Traffic accidents, which have been classified by the United Nations as a public health issue, our goal in this regard is to achieve zero human casualties. Our security forces will increase their monitoring efforts during the Eid al-Fitr holiday to achieve this goal. Please, let us adhere to traffic rules so that no household will mourn during the holiday. Roads are meant to bring us to our loved ones, not to separate us from them."
