After Turkey’s 3-2 loss to Italy in the FIVB World Championship final, national team players Gizem Örge, Eda Erdem, and Ilkin Aydın shared their thoughts. Despite the defeat, they expressed pride in their performance.

Gizem Örge said: “It was a fierce battle. Usually, I lose myself after any defeat, but today I am proud! We fought until the very last ball. We showed the spirit of Turkish women to the whole world. We are a volleyball country and will keep working to improve every day.”
Captain Eda Erdem’s Words
Eda Erdem said: “I am not disappointed. At this level, you cannot win without first experiencing losses. I am truly proud of my teammates. We know we achieved something great and we are not sad. Step by step, we will move forward.”
“An Honor at 38”
She added: “Experiencing this championship at the age of 38 and being selected among the best in my position is a great honor. I always set goals for myself, and when I achieve them, I feel both proud and surprised. I hope to be a good role model for the younger generation.”
Ilkin Aydın’s Statement
Ilkin Aydın highlighted: “Winning the title was our greatest wish, but finishing second is still a big success. We are proud of what we achieved. Congratulations to all my teammates and thanks to everyone who supported us.”
