Fresh tension in the Deniz family
Özcan Deniz is embroiled in a family dispute with his older brother Ercan Deniz and says he and his family do not feel safe. After the previous restraining order expired, he reapplied to the court.
The artist requested an extension of the no-contact order against his brother to protect his wife Samar and their child. He notes that tensions persist and risks remain.
Dispute over a property deed
Following the end of a 22-year management partnership with his brother, Deniz faced family strife and legal proceedings. The crisis began with a deed transfer dispute and deepened amid allegations of threats and bank debts.
According to claims, he had once registered the title of one of his properties in his brother’s name based on trust. Years later, he filed a deed cancellation lawsuit in İstanbul to reclaim it, after which the brothers’ relationship broke down completely.
Bid to extend the court order
It is alleged that Ercan Deniz, angered by these moves, threatened to kill his brother and insulted his wife, prompting Özcan to seek protection. The situation further escalated with these accusations.
According to the newspaper Sabah, Özcan Deniz applied to the İstanbul Family Court and obtained a temporary protective and restraining order against his brother.
With that order expiring, he has now asked to extend the restraining measure to ensure the safety of Samar and their child. The court is expected to announce its decision in the coming days.
