Message on World Tourism Day
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared a message on his NSosyal account to mark World Tourism Day. He congratulated sector stakeholders, calling tourism a smokeless industry.
Erdoğan underlined that tourism supports many sectors, generates chain value added and creates high employment. He emphasized its role in the economy.
Record six-month tourism revenue
According to the president, Turkey posted its highest ever six-month tourism revenue in the first half of this year. He described it as an unprecedented all-time record.
In the first six months of this year, we broke the all-time six-month revenue record in tourism.
The figure was announced as an all-time mark for a six-month period. It points to continued momentum in the sector.
Targeting 64 billion dollars by 2025
Erdoğan also outlined the government’s goal for the end of 2025, aiming to reach 64 billion dollars in tourism revenue. He voiced confidence in achieving this target.
God willing, by the end of 2025 we will reach our target of 64 billion dollars in tourism revenue.
This target guides Turkey’s tourism policy agenda. The government places it at the center of its development plans for the sector.
