Yeşilçam Actress Neşe Aksoy Passes Away at 68
Neşe Aksoy, a renowned actress from the golden era of Yeşilçam (Green Pine) Turkish cinema, has passed away at the age of 68 while receiving lung cancer treatment in İzmir. Her funeral was held at Mavişehir Memur Kardeşler Mosque and she was laid to rest in Örnekköy Cemetery.
According to local reports, Aksoy had been undergoing cancer treatment at a private hospital in İzmir and died on Friday morning. Her passing caused deep sorrow in the Turkish film community, as she appeared in numerous classic Yeşilçam films and was beloved by audiences.
Funeral Ceremony Details
The funeral took place at noon in İzmir’s Mavişehir Memur Kardeşler Mosque. Attendees included her daughter Elif Doğru, son-in-law Emek Can Doğru, nephews Alper and Tolga Dal, former husband Şükrü Ediz, friends, and local residents. After the prayer, her body was buried in Örnekköy Cemetery.
Who Was Neşe Aksoy?
Born in Istanbul in 1966, Neşe Aksoy graduated from the Istanbul Technical University with a degree in Mathematical Engineering. She gained fame through roles in “Kızlar Sınıfı Yarışıyor” and “Lodos Zühtü”, and became widely recognized for her performance in the film “Arkadaşım” alongside Tarık Akan and Fikret Hakan. Besides acting, she studied painting in England and exhibited her artwork in several shows.
