Gupse Özay Launches New Netflix Animated Series “Gupi”
Netflix has introduced “Gupi”, a new children-and-family animated series created by Turkish actress and writer Gupse Özay, during an event held in Istanbul. The show centers around the main character, Gupi—voiced by Özay herself—and features several other well-known Turkish voices.
According to Netflix’s announcement, the series will premiere on October 31. The launch event was attended by Özay, producer Muzaffer Yıldırım, and director Arkın Aktaç.
Production Details of “Gupi”
Produced by Nu Animasyon and written by Gupse Özay, the series features Özay as the voice of Gupi, the lead character. Other voice actors include Dora Kaplan (Sepi), Rüzgar Özacun (Papi), Ayris Kaplan (Beto), Ebru Saçar (Gupi Mom / Börekçi Aunt), Oğuz Özoğul (Gupi Dad / Tombik Uncle), Canan Çiftel (Tombik Aunt / Sepi Mom), Cihan Kaplan (Basketball Brother / Artist Brother), and Kamil Özkavcı (Animal Lover Brother).
“Gupi” marks Gupse Özay’s first venture into creating an animated series for children on Netflix, and it is expected to attract strong interest from families worldwide.
