“There was no hitting or running away; the child suddenly appeared in front of my car while running behind it.”

“There was absolutely no hit or run, and all journalists present witnessed that. The child was running behind the car, suddenly cut in front of me, and collided with the vehicle. When I turned back to look, he had already stood up and started running again.”
