Mustafa Sandal talks for the first time about his lesser-known illness
Mustafa Sandal, the popular Turkish pop music singer, spoke for the first time on the “Hadi Anlat” program about an illness he has been struggling with for years. With rare honesty, he shared his experience of suffering from “trichotillomania” or hair-pulling disorder with the audience.
This energetic artist, whose works still remain in the minds of his fans, explained: “I had trichotillomania for a long time, but now it has become much less. When I was thinking, I would run my finger over my head and suddenly pull out my hair with a ‘lak’ sound. Things are better now, and I’ve managed to control it.”

Family’s reaction to this behavior
In the continuation of his interview, Sandal mentioned that those close to him quickly noticed this habit and reacted to it. He said:
“Those who know me very well, like my mother or Melis, would immediately ask, ‘What’s wrong? What are you thinking about?’ whenever my hand went to my hair.”
The frank confession of Mustafa Sandal about this issue received a positive response from many of his fans; as it shows that even successful figures may face psychological challenges, but with awareness and follow-up, they can be overcome.
