Second Shock for Ebru Gündeş: Husband Murat Özdemir Arrested
Famous Turkish singer Ebru Gündeş, known for her hit songs such as “Ölümsüz Aşklar,” “Dön Ne Olur,” “Sen Allah'ın Bir Lütfusun,” and “Aşık Gibi,” faces another personal crisis as her husband Murat Özdemir has been taken into custody.
Gündeş married businessman Özdemir in Dubai last year in a surprise wedding that made headlines across Turkey.
Arrest in Acarkent Villa
Reports confirmed that Özdemir was detained at his villa in Acarkent during a police operation carried out by the Organized Crime Unit.
Accusation of Organized Crime Membership
Journalist Emrullah Erdinç revealed on social media that Özdemir is accused of being a member of the Selahattin Yılmaz crime organization. He is alleged to have exerted pressure on industrial zones under the group’s directives.
"Özdemir is accused of using organized crime influence to impose control over industrial regions."
Resurfacing of Reza Zarrab’s Past
Following the arrest, the name of Reza Zarrab, Ebru Gündeş’s former husband, resurfaced in the media. In 2016, Zarrab was arrested in the U.S. on charges of bank fraud and money laundering before being released as a cooperating witness.
