Funeral and burial plan for Güllü confirmed
The funeral arrangements for Güllü, who died after falling from the balcony of her residence, have been set. The singer, whose real name is Gül Tut (Gül Tut), was taken from the morgue of Yalova Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi and transferred to İstanbul.
According to the plan, a ceremony will be held tomorrow after the noon prayer at Sultan 1. Ahmet Camisi in Tuzla, after which she will be laid to rest beside her mother. Her passing has plunged the arabesk music community into mourning.
The fall and initial details
Local reports say that Güllü, legally Gül Tut, aged 52, fell from the window of a covered terrace on the fifth floor of her home. The incident occurred in Çınarcık, at Harmanlar Mahallesi on Vali Akı Caddesi, and the cause remains unknown.
Emergency medical teams and police were dispatched after residents alerted authorities, and medics confirmed her death at the scene. Her body was then taken to the morgue at Yalova Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi.
Neighbors and local shopkeepers speak
Neighbor Halit Becergen, 73, said he learned of the incident from other residents and had lived near Güllü for about a year and a half. He described her as a quiet, harmless artist.
"She was fine, kept to herself and never hurt anyone, and she was an artist. May God forgive her shortcomings and grant patience to those she left behind."
Local shopkeeper Sezgin Kaya expressed deep sorrow, calling her a good person and a fine artist who was well liked by the business community. He said they had not slept since last night and offered condolences to her fans.
"She was a good person and a good artist, loved by shopkeepers. We have not slept since last night. May God give patience to her loved ones. I offer my condolences to her fans and hope people appreciate her value."
Official investigation launched
In a written statement, Yalova Valiliği said that at 01:28 a.m., a report of a "fall from height" at Harmanlar Mahallesi, Vali Akı Caddesi reached the 112 Emergency Call Center, and teams were dispatched. The statement noted that her daughter and her daughter's friend were at home at the time.
"Upon arrival, it was determined that Gül Tut, known as ‘Güllü’, fell from the window at her residence while she was with her daughter and her daughter’s friend, and medical checks confirmed her death. In line with the prosecutor’s instructions, an investigation into the ‘fall from height’ has been initiated by Çınarcık İlçe Emniyet Müdürlüğü."
Burial in Tuzla
After legal formalities, her body was transported to İstanbul. The funeral prayer will be held tomorrow after noon at Sultan 1. Ahmet Camisi in Tuzla, followed by burial next to her mother.
Last video surfaces
Final footage of Güllü emerged after her death. Having recently installed a coded door lock and a camera at her home, she says in the video that she feels safer and recommends such measures.
"I feel very safe now. Our brother Furkan installed a coded door for me; without the code, no one can enter. There is a camera and photo recording. I strongly recommend it. We are going through tough times, and this is a product everyone needs."
Producer Şahin Özer speaks
Renowned producer Şahin Özer said Güllü was like "one of his children" and the most loyal of them. He added that they spoke by phone two days ago and were planning a new album.
"Güllü would not commit suicide; she died after a fall. We talked two days ago and had plans for a new album. This death is definitely not suicide, but an accident."
Who was Güllü?
Gül Tut (Güllü) was born in 1973 in Kasımpaşa, İstanbul, and became a leading voice in arabesk and fantasy music. Despite a difficult childhood and youth, her powerful voice drew attention, and she entered the music scene in the 1990s.
She became known for songs such as “Oyuncak Gibi,” “Kırılsın Ellerim,” and “Sevdalım,” and was also nicknamed “Kasımpaşalı Güllü.” With her distinctive delivery, stage energy, and frank personality, she earned widespread affection and remained one of the unforgettable female voices of the genre.
