Yellow alert issued for 13 provinces
Temperatures in northern Turkey will run below seasonal norms, and the new week will start with passing showers across northern, interior and western regions. The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a yellow alert for 13 provinces: 11 for strong winds and 2 for rainfall.
Readings are expected to be 2 to 4 degrees below average in the north, while remaining near normal elsewhere. These changes coincide with incoming unstable waves.
Outlook and affected areas
According to the meteorology authority, northern parts will be partly to mostly cloudy. The eastern Marmara (Marmara), the central and eastern coasts of the Black Sea (Karadeniz), and the eastern districts of Kırklareli (Kırklareli) will see local thundershowers, with clearer skies elsewhere.
Mist and patchy fog are expected overnight and in the morning over northern Central Anatolia and the interior of the Black Sea region, briefly reducing visibility.
Strong winds in 11 provinces under alert
A yellow warning is in place for İstanbul (İstanbul), İzmir (İzmir), Balıkesir (Balıkesir), Çanakkale (Çanakkale), Kırklareli (Kırklareli), Manisa (Manisa), Yalova (Yalova), Bursa (Bursa), Edirne (Edirne), Kocaeli (Kocaeli) and Tekirdağ (Tekirdağ). Winds from the north and northeast will blow strong to storm force.
The meteorology service warned of potential travel disruptions, roof damage and fallen trees, urging caution.
Rain alert for Rize and Trabzon
Rize (Rize) and Trabzon (Trabzon) are also under a yellow rainfall alert. Conditions will be partly to mostly cloudy across the region.
Coastal areas will see intermittent local showers, with locally heavy rain expected along the Rize coast.

The north, interior and west will be partly, at times very, cloudy. Cloud cover will vary with passing mesoscale disturbances.
Today, showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Kocaeli, Sakarya, Düzce, Bolu, Karabük, the Antalya vicinity and the Kırklareli coast. On Sunday they are expected across the south and east of Marmara, the Aegean (Ege), the Western Mediterranean (Batı Akdeniz), and the coasts of Adana, Osmaniye and Hatay.

Ankara (Ankara) will reach 24°C today, with showers likely on Monday. Temperatures should stay near seasonal norms.
İstanbul will be partly to at times mostly cloudy with 23°C. İzmir will see 29°C, with showers and thunderstorms expected on Monday.
