Gülenay Kalkan Shares Her Thoughts on the Series “Güller ve Günahlar”
Gülenay Kalkan, who portrays the character Sevim Tecer in the widely watched TV series Güller ve Günahlar, spoke about the project and expressed her appreciation for the script as well as the strong harmony within the cast.
“From the moment the script reached me, it felt different. I really loved it. The story stood out to me from the very first day, and the script had a very positive impact on me.”
Kalkan stated that she was not surprised by the rating success of the series, explaining that she believed in the power of the story from the beginning and found the script compelling as a whole.
Speaking about her character, the actress described Sevim as someone who may appear strict and authoritative on the surface, but who is, in reality, a woman willing to give up everything for her family. According to Kalkan, this depth makes the character easier to understand.
“Sevim is actually a woman who would sacrifice everything for her family. I try to understand her and approach her decisions with empathy.”
In an interview with Alev Gürsoy Cimin, Kalkan also highlighted the strong teamwork behind the production. She noted that this is her third project with Murat, whom she already knew well, while praising the younger actors she met on set for their talent and professionalism.
“This is our third project with Murat, so I already knew him well. The actors I met for the first time are all extremely talented and very respectful. The team is wonderful, and I truly love working with everyone.”
