Travel time between Ankara and Izmir will be reduced to 3.5 hours
The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that Ankara will soon be connected to Izmir by high-speed train. He emphasized that the travel time between these two cities, which is currently 14 hours, will be reduced to 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Minister’s Speech at the Iftar Event
Minister Uraloğlu attended the iftar event organized by the district presidency of the Justice and Development Party (AK Parti) at the Sincan Municipality Exhibition and Congress Center.
Transportation Developments in Ankara
In his speech, he highlighted the achievements of the Turkish government in the field of transportation and said:
"We have carried out significant projects in all areas of transportation, including road, rail, air, communications, and maritime sectors. We have also implemented numerous projects in Ankara and connected this city to all parts of the country through divided highways."
He also pointed out the expansion of the high-speed train network and stated that Ankara has been connected to the cities of Eskişehir, Istanbul, Konya, Karaman, and Yozgat through these lines.
Increase in High-Speed Train Passengers
According to the minister’s statements, a total of 97 million passengers have traveled via high-speed trains so far, and soon, the Ankara-Izmir route will also be added to this network.
Expansion of Road and Communication Networks
He also mentioned the expansion of the country’s road network and said:
"We have connected Ankara to the cities of Niğde, Nevşehir, Mersin, Adana, Gaziantep, Osmaniye, and Şanlıurfa through the Ankara-Niğde Highway."
Improvement of Communication Infrastructure
Minister Uraloğlu also emphasized that the government has provided extensive services in the field of communications and added:
"We have received new requests, and we are working to meet them in cooperation with the governorship and members of parliament."
In conclusion, he stated that the government, under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will continue to provide services in Sincan, Ankara, and throughout Turkey.
