Despite creating multiple chances, Fenerbahçe was unable to score a third goal, and the match ended 2-0 in regular time, sending it into extra time. During these minutes, the Turkish representative continued to push for a goal but could not find the breakthrough, leading to a penalty shootout.

Szymański’s Brilliant Performance Was Not Enough

Sebastian Szymański, the Polish midfielder for Fenerbahçe, scored his first goals of the season in the Europa League.

The 25-year-old player, who had an impressive goal-scoring record last season, was less effective this year due to a tactical system change. In the Turkish Super League, he had scored two goals, and in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League, he had netted once.

However, his two crucial goals in the 45th and 73rd minutes against Rangers were not enough for his team to advance.

Injury for Mert Müldür

Fenerbahçe's national team defender, Mert Müldür, was unable to finish the match due to an injury.

He sustained an injury in the 85th minute and, after enduring the pain, fell to the ground in the 87th minute. Eventually, in the 88th minute, he was substituted by Alexander Djiku.
