"Yellow" warning for three provinces: Heavy snowfall on the way
Following the forecast of heavy snowfall in the central and eastern Black Sea regions, a "yellow" warning has been issued for three provinces in the country.
According to the report by the Turkish Meteorological Service, the weather in most parts of the country is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy, with scattered precipitation in areas such as eastern Marmara, eastern Central Anatolia, various parts of the Black Sea, eastern and southeastern Anatolia, as well as the provinces of Balıkesir, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, and Hatay.
Warning details for Samsun, Ordu, and Giresun
According to the Meteorological Service, snowfall in the inland areas of the provinces of Samsun, Ordu, and Giresun (in elevations above 700 meters) is expected to be heavy, with a snow cover between 10 to 20 centimeters.
Warning about potential hazards
The Meteorological Service has advised residents of these areas to be cautious and prepared for traffic disruptions, icy roads, blizzards, and the risk of avalanches on snowy slopes.
"The risk of blizzards, icy roads, and avalanches in elevated areas is serious. Residents of these regions should take the necessary precautions."
