Serdal Adalı referred to the disciplinary committee of the Turkish Football Federation
The Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu (TFF) Legal Consultancy has referred Serdal Adalı, president of Beşiktaş Club, to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (Profesyonel Futbol Disiplin Kurulu - PFDK) due to his statements.
According to the statement issued by the federation, the reasons for this referral include "statements that damage the reputation of football" and "insulting and violating the personal rights of the match official." These statements were published on Wednesday, March 26, via the club's official social media account.
Beşiktaş Club was also referred to the disciplinary committee for the same reasons, as the statements were published through its official media channels.
Strong reaction from Serdal Adalı to the federation's decision
After the federation announced the name of the match referee, Serdal Adalı reacted angrily. He had requested the appointment of a foreign referee to manage the critical match between Beşiktaş and Galatasaray. After this request was ignored, he made strongly worded media statements, sharply criticized the TFF's decision, and called for the resignation of the federation's administration.
Serdal Adalı: "Turkish football can no longer move forward with such decisions. This decision not only harms our club but also damages the reputation of the entire league."
Famous international referee invited to the Istanbul derby
In a different move, Beşiktaş Club invited a famous retired international referee to watch the 29th-week match of the Süper Lig against Galatasaray. This referee, who will watch the match alongside club president Serdal Adalı, will also analyze and evaluate the critical moments during the game.
This move is considered a symbolic protest by the club against recent refereeing decisions in the Turkish league.
