Hatipoğlu stated that Ilıcalı has focused on influencing refereeing decisions and shaping public perception, rather than focusing on real competition on the field.

Criticism of Referee Decisions

Hatipoğlu also referred to the critical Fenerbahçe - Kasımpaşa match from last season, in which the referee, using VAR, awarded a penalty that seemed more like "a feeling" in favor of the home team. He also pointed to this season's matches between Galatasaray and Hatayspor and Kasımpaşa, where referee decisions directly impacted the results of the matches.

Criticism of Fenerbahçe - Samsunspor Match

“In the Fenerbahçe - Samsunspor match, the referee unfairly sent off a player from the visiting team, and it was said that the referee ‘is probably from Galatasaray,’ and the purpose was to create a sense of ambiguity.”
