Historic Record of Real Estate Sales in the First Quarter of the Year
In the first quarter of this year, the total real estate sales across Türkiye reached 694,628 units, setting a new record for this period.
The rapid growth of the real estate market, which started at the beginning of the year, continued in February and March as well. These sales included various types of properties such as houses, land, farms, workplaces, and commercial properties.
Significant Increase in Sales in January and February
In January, real estate sales increased by 20.2% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 238,938 units. In February, with a 7% increase, sales amounted to 232,756 properties.
However, in March, this trend slightly declined, and sales dropped by 0.8% compared to the previous year, reaching 222,934 units.
New Record Set for the Entire First Quarter
Considering the total sales in the first quarter, the overall number of real estate transactions reached 694,628, indicating an 8.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
Previously, the highest record for first-quarter sales was in 2023, with the number 683,399.
4.8 Million Transactions in Land Registry Offices
During the same period, nearly 4.8 million transactions were recorded in land registry offices in Türkiye. Among them, approximately:
- 695,000 sales transactions
- 344,000 mortgage transactions
- 106,000 ownership transfers
- 36,000 information corrections
- 17,000 state acquisitions
- 15,000 parceling
- 7,300 property mergers
- 6,400 donations
Other types of transactions also exceeded a total of 3.5 million.
Significant Increase in Revenue from Real Estate Transactions
The revenue generated from the fees of these transactions increased by 72.5% compared to the previous year, reaching the remarkable amount of 28 billion and 832 million liras.
