Bad news for Beşiktaş; Emirhan Topçu's injury confirmed
The club Beşiktaş announced the injury of Emirhan Topçu, their young defender, in the match against Kasımpaşa. According to the official statement, he will not be available for the upcoming important match against RAMS Başakşehir.
Details of Emirhan Topçu's injury
In the 30th week of the Turkish Süper Lig and in the match against Kasımpaşa, Emirhan Topçu was forced to leave the field in the 17th minute due to pain in the thigh area. Medical examinations at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital revealed that he has suffered a strain and swelling in the rectus femoris muscle in the upper thigh.
"Our first team football player, Emirhan Topçu, could not continue the match against Kasımpaşa in the 17th minute due to thigh pain. According to the MRI performed, a strain and swelling were detected in the thigh muscle, and the treatment process has been started by our medical team."
Considering the current condition, the 24-year-old player will not be able to play for his team in the upcoming match against RAMS Başakşehir.
Emergency substitution and strange red card
After Emirhan Topçu’s injury, Tayyip Talha Sanuç entered the field in the 17th minute, but this substitution was not fortunate either. Sanuç received a straight red card in the 44th minute, leaving Beşiktaş with one less player.
Defensive crisis ahead of a critical match
Previously, Felix Uduokhai had also been injured, and now with the absence of Emirhan Topçu and Tayyip Talha’s suspension, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the head coach of Beşiktaş, has fewer options for choosing a defensive lineup. It is not yet clear who will play alongside Gabriel Paulista in the defense line against Başakşehir.
With this situation, the black-and-white team of Istanbul is facing a serious challenge in the heart of its defense ahead of the upcoming match.
