Family Dispute Between Özcan Deniz and His Brother Taken to Court; Official Order Issued to Stay Away from Wife and Home
Özcan Deniz, a renowned Turkish singer and actor, has filed a lawsuit against his brother Ercan Deniz over a property ownership dispute, leading to a serious family crisis. The case, which has reached the court, has taken a more alarming turn with allegations of death threats and insults towards Özcan’s wife.
Crisis Begins with Property Dispute
According to reports, Özcan Deniz had years ago registered a property under his brother’s name, but he now demands the property be transferred back to his own name. As the transfer did not occur, he filed a formal lawsuit in Istanbul Civil Court to cancel the title deed and re-register it in his name.
This action caused a complete breakdown in the relationship between the two brothers, who had worked closely together for more than two decades.
Allegations of Death Threat and Insults Toward Wife
The tensions were not limited to financial matters. In a statement, Özcan Deniz claimed that his brother, Ercan Deniz, threatened to kill him and verbally abused his wife Samar Dadgar.
“He not only threatened me, but also insulted my wife with offensive language.”
Following these incidents, Özcan Deniz and his wife applied to the family court, requesting a protective order against Ercan Deniz. The complaint also stated that Ercan entered their home without permission and behaved in a threatening manner toward Samar.
Court Decision: One-Month Restraining Order
According to the newspaper “Sabah,” after reviewing the evidence and testimonies, the court issued a one-month restraining order. As per this ruling, Ercan Deniz is prohibited from approaching Özcan Deniz’s home or making any contact with his wife.
This family dispute, intertwined with their long-standing professional relationship, has received widespread attention in Turkish media and the entertainment industry. Once known for their close bond, Özcan and Ercan Deniz now stand on opposite sides of a legal battle.
