Court Dispute Between İbrahim Tatlıses and His Daughter Dilan Çıtak

A public prosecutor has filed a case against Dilan Çıtak on the charge of “attempted injury with a weapon” after she allegedly threw a TV remote at her father in their Bodrum home. İbrahim Tatlıses later withdrew his complaint, but it did not change the outcome.

No calm between father and daughter…

The dispute between the famous folk singer İbrahim Tatlıses and his singer daughter Dilan Çıtak has moved to the judiciary. Although Tatlıses forgave his daughter, the judiciary did not, and Çıtak will stand trial for “attempted injury with a weapon” for allegedly throwing a remote at her father.

Argument Started at Breakfast

Last year, during breakfast at their Bodrum home, an argument began between father and daughter and quickly escalated. According to the investigation file, Çıtak used harsh expressions toward her father during the dispute.

Remote Considered a “Weapon”

Unable to control her temper, Çıtak grabbed the TV remote on the table and threw it toward Tatlıses. Although it did not hit him, the incident was confirmed by the statements of household staff. As tensions rose, Tatlıses instructed his staff:

“Remove her from the house.”

Prosecutor Filed the Case

In the heat of the moment, Tatlıses initially filed a complaint against his daughter, then forgave her and withdrew it. However, the prosecutor did not drop the matter, stating that it is a public case. Under the Turkish Penal Code, a TV remote is evaluated as a “weapon”, and Çıtak’s act was classified as “attempted intentional injury with a weapon.”

With the indictment prepared, the court process has officially begun.
