Comedian Hasan Can Kaya, who reached wide audiences through the popular show Konuşanlar, made striking statements about his career during a recent appearance. Kaya revealed that his biggest professional regret was turning down a leading role offer from renowned director Nuri Bilge Ceylan.
Speaking openly about the issue for the first time, Hasan Can Kaya explained that he had to decline the offer due to an extremely demanding schedule at the time. He noted that overlapping projects forced him to make a decision he still regrets today.
“At that time, I was working on a TV series, touring, and continuing the filming of Konuşanlar. The movie was going to be shot in Erzurum in December, and because of this intense workload, I couldn’t go. This became the biggest regret of my career.”
Kaya added that if he could go back in time, he would be willing to cancel other commitments in order not to miss such an opportunity. He emphasized that the decision still stays with him and often comes back to his mind.
During the conversation, Hasan Can Kaya was asked whether he would accept the role if a similar offer came again. His response was clear and decisive, leaving no room for hesitation.
“I would go immediately. Nuri Abi, I’m here,” Kaya said, addressing Nuri Bilge Ceylan.
