Filter Glitch on Didem Arslan’s Live Broadcast Sparks Social Media Debate
The television program hosted by Didem Arslan on SHOW TV made headlines for an unexpected reason. During a live broadcast, the facial filter applied to the presenter suddenly slipped, revealing an unfiltered on-screen appearance that quickly caught viewers’ attention.
Several viewers recorded the moment and shared it across social media platforms. As a result, the program “Didem Arslan Yılmaz'la Vazgeçme” trended online — not because of the cases discussed on air, but due to the live filter malfunction.
According to social media users, the sudden disappearance of the filter revealed facial details that had previously been softened by digital enhancement. The incident reignited discussions about the use of beauty filters in live television productions and how quickly technical glitches can escalate into online controversy.
Similar Incident Previously Involving Ece Erken
This is not the first time a Turkish TV presenter has experienced such an issue. Ece Erken previously faced a comparable situation during a live broadcast when a close-up, unfiltered image of her circulated on social media, triggering widespread criticism.
“I go to bed no later than 21:00 and am at the channel by 06:00. I host live broadcasts from 09:30 to 15:30. I enter a barrel filled with ice, my makeup runs during the show, and my eyes swell from crying. You have known me for years, seeing me on screen every day. Taking a close-up of me and sharing it with the caption ‘Look at Ece Erken’ reflects a culture that feeds on public shaming. May God grant you wisdom and inner beauty — there is a remedy for outward appearance, but not for inner negativity.”
In her response, Ece Erken criticized what she described as online shaming culture, arguing that selectively sharing close-up images outside their broadcast context was unfair.
Müge Anlı Also Experienced a Brief Filter Delay
Müge Anlı had also faced a similar moment in the past. During one of her broadcasts, the on-screen filter was reportedly activated two seconds late, briefly displaying her unfiltered appearance.
Although the delay lasted only seconds, the footage quickly circulated online and sparked short-lived debate. These incidents highlight how technical disruptions during live television can instantly transform into widely discussed topics on social media.
