Kanye West Breaks All-Time Attendance Record at Istanbul Ataturk Olympic Stadium
World-famous rapper Kanye West achieved a historic milestone at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium (Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadyumu) in Istanbul. With approximately 118,000 people attending the massive event, West announced that they broke the record for the highest-attended stadium performance of all time. While the night offered an unforgettable show for music lovers, it was marked by significant overcrowding on metro lines and technical malfunctions at ticket turnstiles.
One of the largest music productions in history took place in Istanbul as Kanye West performed for tens of thousands of fans. However, behind the scenes of the massive organization, a major crush and ticket crisis occurred, paralyzing Istanbul’s transportation infrastructure.
"We Broke the All-Time Record with 118,000 People"
"I want to tell you this; there are exactly 118,000 people here and tonight we broke the record for the highest-attended stadium performance of all time!"

In addition to Kanye West, popular Turkish music figures such as Motive, Sena Sener (Sena Şener), Pera, Mavi, and Yener Cevik (Yener Çevik) took the stage. The event featured before and after parties, and strict security measures were implemented, including a requirement for those under 16 to be accompanied by a parent.
Overcrowding on the M9 Metro Line
As the excitement peaked inside the stadium, thousands of people trying to reach the venue faced a struggle. The crowd heading toward the Ataturk Olympic Stadium caused massive overcrowding on the M9 Atakoy-Olimpiyat (Ataköy-Olimpiyat) Metro Line. Platforms, corridors, and transfer points were completely blocked, and escalators ceased to function due to the volume of people.

QR Code Crisis at the Entrance
Music lovers who reached the stadium gates faced a second challenge at the turnstiles. Due to a technical malfunction in the system, QR codes on many tickets could not be scanned. Hundreds of people who had difficulty entering with their purchased tickets experienced tension and heated arguments with stadium staff. Despite these organizational crises, 118,000 people witnessed this historic global music event.
