The price of wedding dresses has skyrocketed in recent months, starting from 20,000 liras and reaching up to 1,200,000 liras for famous brands. Celebrities also make headlines with the wedding dresses they wear at their ceremonies. Furthermore, many of these well-known figures and artists prefer to have more than one wedding dress.
Designers and sellers of wedding dresses say that the cost has increased due to the fact that fabrics and decorative stones are imported and sold at foreign currency rates based on the dollar.
In wedding dress shops and many stores in the Fatih and Kadikoy areas, there is no option for installments. A down payment of one-third of the dress price is required, and the remaining amount is requested in cash or via a bank card reader upon delivery.
In the Fatih area, the purchase price of wedding dresses ranges from 25,000 liras to 70,000 liras depending on the model, while rental prices are also not reasonable. Rental dresses start at 23,000 liras and can go up to 50,000 liras. On the other hand, buyers prefer to purchase the dress for a little more money as a keepsake of their wedding day. In the Kadikoy area, purchase prices range from 20,000 liras to 90,000 liras, while rental prices range from 18,000 to 45,000 liras. Prices vary based on the model of the fabric and stones used.
