The passing of Acun Günay, life partner of Tarık Akan

Acun Günay, the 26-year life partner of Tarık Akan, a legendary figure in Turkish cinema, has passed away. The news of her death was announced by the Nazım Hikmet Foundation for Culture and Arts.

Tarık Akan passed away in 2016, and now, after several years, his life companion Acun Günay, who was a retired ballerina, has also passed away.

In the announcement published by the Nazım Hikmet Foundation for Culture and Arts, it stated: “Our dear friend, companion of Tarık Akan, his beloved wife and a member of the Foundation’s Advisory Board, Acun Günay, has now reunited with her great love. Our condolences to her family and loved ones.”

According to the foundation, the funeral of Acun Günay will be held on March 25, 2025, after the noon prayer at Ömer Duruk Mosque located in Ataköy 5. Kısım, and then she will be laid to rest in Ayazağa Cemetery.
