Rafet El Roman: I went through a lot of hardship in the beginning

Rafet El Roman, the famous Turkish singer, spoke in an interview about the difficulties he faced at the start of his professional career. He said:

"In the early 1990s, I spent years looking for a music distribution company. Back then, it was really hard. You either had to have a manager or work with a music company to be able to release your album and reach a wide audience."

He added that his doctor also warned him about this and said:

Rafet continued:

"I won’t demonstrate it here so it won’t be inappropriate, but he said: 'Keep your foot still and just shake your hips.' That was his suggestion. I told him I’ll talk about it on stage and send him my regards."

"When you see a beautiful voice, you can’t ignore it. I myself spent years in the early ’90s looking for a music distribution company and I know very well how hard those times were."
