Antalya Airport's capacity increases to 82 million passengers
Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, announced that the new terminals of Antalya Airport will be inaugurated on April 12 with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. According to him, with the operation of these terminals, the airport’s annual capacity will increase from 35 million to 82 million passengers.
Increase in aircraft parking and terminal expansion
The Minister of Transport explained that the number of aircraft parking positions has increased from 108 to 176, and this increase was made possible by building new apron areas. Also, the VIP terminal of the airport has been expanded from 690 square meters to 2,000 square meters, and the general aviation terminal from 1,200 square meters to 2,800 square meters.
New facilities in service of passengers
Uraloğlu added: “The 2,000 square meter State Guest House and the 5,000 square meter service building belonging to the General Directorate of State Airports Authority, along with staff residences, are now providing services.”
Increase in domestic and international terminal capacity
According to the minister, in the development project, the international terminal has increased in size from 90,143 square meters to 224,000 square meters, and the domestic terminal has grown from 36,859 square meters to 75,000 square meters. He emphasized that with these developments, Antalya Airport’s annual capacity will reach 82 million passengers.
"Last year, we reached the significant figure of 39.2 million passengers."
Antalya Airport remains operational without interruption
Uraloğlu noted that these projects have had no negative impact on transportation and tourism activities in the region. He added: “Our airport continues to provide uninterrupted service with full compliance with national and international regulations.”
Performance statistics for 2024
By the end of 2024, 45,351 domestic flights with 6,242,379 passengers and 188,748 international flights with 32,988,354 passengers had been carried out at this airport. The total of these numbers amounts to 234,099 flights and 39,230,733 passengers.
