Turkish Airlines signs 75 jet agreement with Boeing
Turkish Airlines (Türk Hava Yolları) has signed an agreement with Boeing for a total of 75 widebody aircraft as part of its 2033 goals. The deal underpins operational upgrades planned as the carrier progresses toward a fleet target of 813 aircraft.
Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, said, “We have taken a major step toward our 813 aircraft fleet objective in line with our 2033 targets.”
Order breakdown and 2033 roadmap
Bolat wrote on social media that the airline is advancing confidently from a boutique carrier to the pinnacle of global aviation. He noted that 2033 marks the airline’s centennial and that the company is preparing to induct its 500th aircraft.
According to Bolat, the new agreement covers 50 firm and 25 optional next generation widebody jets. Turkish Airlines also signed a preliminary agreement for 100 firm and 50 optional next generation narrowbodies, another key step toward the 813 aircraft goal by 2033.
New Dreamliners and efficiency gains
The widebody additions will include Dreamliner (Dreamliner) models Boeing 787-9 and 787-10. These aircraft will strengthen the network worldwide while boosting operational efficiency and flexibility.
Depending on operational parameters, the new generation delivers around 20 percent fuel efficiency. Alongside increased cargo and passenger capacity, the move advances environmental responsibility and the pursuit of a carbon neutral airline. Bolat said the entire fleet will consist of this new generation by 2035.
Bolat's message and acknowledgments
Bolat stated that by 2033 Turkish Airlines aims to become an ecosystem carrying 171 million passengers with a fleet of 813 aircraft, expanding its wings across six continents. He stressed that teams are working at full strength to elevate the national brand and deepen the company’s contribution to the country.
Expressing gratitude to the President for his vision in turning the Turkish Airlines brand into a global power, Bolat added: “I thank all colleagues whose resolve fuels our ascent. We will keep flying high and remain the pride of Türkiye.”
He added that the airline will maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders and keep the national flag flying proudly. The new purchases are seen as a launchpad for sustainable growth and improved operational performance.
