The New Terminal at Antalya Airport Welcomes Passengers Starting Today
Antalya International Airport, operated by TAV Havalimanları, welcomed its first passengers at the T2 international flights terminal after completing the expansion works, now with a refreshed look.
This project is part of a major renovation and capacity expansion plan for the airport. In the first phase, the companies TAV and Fraport invested more than 850 million euros in the development of airport infrastructure.
On the first day of operation, passengers on flight XQ301 of SunExpress, arriving from Ercan Airport to Antalya, were welcomed with flowers and welcome gifts.
"The first phase of the expansion project was completed in less than three years, and the ultimate goal is to increase the airport's annual capacity to more than 80 million passengers."
With the expansion of both domestic and international terminals, the total area of these sections has nearly doubled; the international terminal increased to 225,000 square meters and the domestic terminal to 75,000 square meters.
Additionally, commercial areas at the airport have nearly tripled. The new spaces include lounges, restaurants, cafes, and duty-free areas that have been completely redesigned.
Significant Increase in the Airport’s Operational Capacity
In the apron area (the operational area of the airport), more than 1.4 million square meters of new space has been added, increasing the number of aircraft parking stands to 202 stands.
The project also included the construction of a multi-story car park, new taxiways, connecting roads, aircraft maintenance hangars, general aviation terminal and other infrastructure facilities that were completed in the first phase.
VIP Lounges and a Unique Dining Experience
One of the standout features of this project is the design and construction of three exclusive VIP lounges in different categories for premium travelers.
Also, the company BFA, a joint venture of TAV and Fraport, has established more than 7,500 square meters of dedicated space in Terminal T2 for 28 food and beverage points.
In this section, a collaboration with the renowned Turkish chef Ömür Akkor led to the creation of the brand "Tadında Anadolu – Taste of Anatolia", inspired by the culinary heritage of Anatolia.
