Selin Şekerci infected with influenza virus; “I’m going through a terrible illness period”

Selin Şekerci, a prominent Turkish actress known for her roles in series such as "Kavak Yelleri", "Melekler Korusun", and "Yalan Dünya", announced that she has contracted the influenza virus.

“I’m going through a very difficult and exhausting illness period.”

This actress, who is frequently in the headlines due to her strong presence in various projects as well as her personal life, has now attracted attention due to health problems. She shared a message on social media saying she has been battling a severe virus for the past 15 days.

Şekerci emphasized that this illness comes with symptoms like fever, severe pain, and nausea, and described it by writing:

“It’s a terrifying illness that even makes COVID look weak.”

Selin Şekerci further added that the virus manifests with ongoing and exhausting symptoms; sometimes she felt like she was recovering but would wake up the next day with a new problem.

She posted a picture of herself on social media and wrote:

“Hi. I’ve been going through a terrible illness for 15 days. Stress has been with me since childhood and has weakened my immune system. May no one ever experience this. Persistent fever, pain, nausea... a ruthless virus full of surprises. I'm trying to pull myself together. I feel a little better. My face flared up with rosacea due to stress, so I added a slight filter to my photo to give an update. In short; health is extremely important!”

Who is Selin Şekerci?

Selin Şekerci was born on June 1, 1989, in the city of Izmir and is now 34 years old. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Communication at Istanbul Bilgi University. She began her acting career with a role in the popular series “Kavak Yelleri” and gained widespread fame for her lead role in “Melekler Korusun”, in which she played the character “Özgür Çelikli.”
