Sabiha Gökçen Airport; The second busiest airport in Europe in terms of passenger growth
According to the report published by the Airports Council International (ACI) on air traffic statistics for February 2025, Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul was ranked as the second airport among major airports with over 40 million passengers that experienced the highest growth in passenger numbers.
According to this report, during January and February 2025, Sabiha Gökçen achieved a growth of 8.7% in passenger numbers, earning it second place among Europe’s busiest airports in this category.
In addition, in terms of total number of passengers, the airport ranked eighth among all European airports in February and during the first two months of 2025 in terms of passenger traffic volume.
The ACI report shows that Sabiha Gökçen has performed impressively in the most competitive category of European airports and remains one of the key players in the region’s air traffic.
