Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu's clash with a taxi driver over her dog; the incident ended up at the police station
Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, the well-known face of the popular show "Survivor", made headlines on social media this time with a controversial incident. She wanted to get into a taxi with her dog, but the driver refused; a refusal that eventually led to an argument and a visit to the police station.
Unfinished trip with her dog
Kalaycıoğlu took a taxi to get to her destination, and when the taxi arrived, she tried to get in with her dog. But the driver objected to having an animal in the vehicle.
Verbal argument and recording the video
Following the driver's refusal, an argument broke out between the TV personality and the taxi driver. Kalaycıoğlu recorded those moments and shared them on her social media account.
"I got in the taxi and halfway through the ride, he said he couldn't take my dog. His tone wasn’t nice. He also ignored my face. I stayed in the car and didn’t get out. We’re really tired of this kind of behavior from you drivers. I don't even know how many times I've faced this. We're waiting for the police now."
Claim of forced transfer to the police station
According to Kalaycıoğlu, the situation escalated to the point where the driver, instead of returning her to the place where she got in, locked the doors and forcibly took her to the police station.
"Instead of taking me back to where I got in, he locked the doors and forcibly brought me to the police station! Shame on him."
Mixed reactions on social media
The videos of the confrontation shared on social media were viewed thousands of times and sparked widespread reactions. Some users criticized Kalaycıoğlu, while others sympathized with her and defended her right to carry a pet.
This incident once again brought up the issue of animal transportation rules in public vehicles in Turkey.
