Shocking Messages Found After Nihal Candan’s Death; Mother Blames Son-in-Law

Following the death of Nihal Candan due to Anorexia Nervosa, her mother Umut Candan broke her silence and shared disturbing messages on social media, directly accusing her son-in-law Faruk Çiçek of abandonment and negligence. She claimed all the evidence was on Nihal’s phone.

Phone Unlocked After Death: Disturbing Messages Revealed

Nihal Candan, who was arrested in November 2023 along with her sister on charges of fraud and money laundering, contracted Anorexia while in prison. She was temporarily released due to her deteriorating health but lost her physical resistance during treatment and passed away on June 21 after her heart stopped for the second time.

Mother’s Direct Accusations Against Husband

In her first public statement after her daughter's death, Nihal's mother said she accessed her phone and found evidence showing Faruk left Nihal alone during her illness. She wrote: "Nihal was not in a state to give forgiveness. While she was in the hospital, he was on vacation. He even canceled her health insurance! How can someone be so cruel to their spouse?"

“Played With Her Like a Cat and Mouse”

The mother added: "Before prison, there was no talk of divorce. He was caring in the first two months, then abandoned her. After her release, he was inconsistent—sometimes showing interest, sometimes not... like a cat playing with a mouse."

"Everything Is Saved on the Phone"

She continued: "All the evidence is on Nihal’s phone. I saw it after she died. One of the people she was in contact with even sent a message saying: 'I will give you valuable information you can use in the case.' All of it is documented in the phone."
