Irmak Ünal, a well-known Turkish actress, revealed in an emotional social media post that she has been fighting breast cancer for the past ten months. She emphasized that early diagnosis can save lives and expressed that she never felt alone during her journey.
Ünal, who paused her acting career four years ago and moved to Bali seeking a peaceful life with her children, shared that she has now returned to Istanbul to continue her treatment.
In her recent post, she spoke openly about her illness for the first time, surprising and touching her followers deeply.
“It Was the First Day of the New Year… What a Surprise!”
Ünal described the moment she received the diagnosis:
“When I heard the words ‘breast cancer’ in my results, it was the first day of the new year… what a surprise! I didn’t know this journey would both break me completely and rebuild me again. It’s real, hard, and deeply transformative.”
