Shock Decision on Defne Samyeli: Residence Management Takes Her to Court
Turkish actress and TV host Defne Samyeli is facing legal action after a dispute with the management of the residence she rents in Şişli, Istanbul, over unpaid maintenance fees.
According to the case file submitted to the Istanbul Civil Court of Peace, the site management claims Samyeli failed to pay 94,937.96 TL for common area expenses and independent unit usage fees.
The management initiated debt enforcement proceedings through the 4th Enforcement Office of Istanbul.
Dispute Escalates After Failed Mediation
Samyeli objected to the enforcement, leading to a temporary suspension of the process. However, after no agreement was reached in mediation, the management filed a lawsuit requesting cancellation of objection and an additional 20% bad-faith compensation.
Lawyer’s Response
According to Hürriyet, Samyeli’s lawyer Şenay Şık argued that her client owes no money to the management and accused them of neglecting their obligations under the Condominium Ownership Law.
