Why Was Aref Ghafouri Taken Into Custody?
Authorities launched operations across five provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Samsun, and Kahramanmaraş, following suspicious fluctuations in the shares of Avrupa Yatırım Holding A.Ş. that caused substantial losses for small investors.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that Ghafouri’s detention is linked to allegations of forming a criminal organization and information-based market fraud.

According to the prosecutor’s investigation, the allegations include:

So far, 7 people have been arrested, 12 remain in custody, and legal proceedings continue for 6 additional suspects.
