Müge Boz Reveals the Illness She Has Been Battling for 20 Years
Well-known Turkish actress and model Müge Boz has shared her long-hidden health struggle with the public for the first time. Speaking during an ongoing detox program in Austria, Boz revealed that she has been living with psoriasis for nearly 20 years. She explained that the disease has not only affected her skin, but has also deeply impacted her self-confidence, social relationships, and professional life.
Müge Boz stated that since the age of 15, she has even chosen her clothing based on her condition. She explained that the illness has shaped her daily life from a young age and forced her to constantly adapt her appearance.
“This Detox Is Not About Losing Weight”
Boz emphasized that she did not begin the detox process for physical transformation or weight loss, but rather to find a solution to a long-standing health issue that has made her life difficult for many years. She noted that psoriasis has left deep marks on both her self-esteem and her career.
“It Deeply Affected My Self-Confidence and Social Life”
In the video she shared on social media, Müge Boz spoke candidly about the psychological burden of the disease, stressing that psoriasis is not merely a physical condition. She explained that it caused significant emotional strain and negatively influenced her social interactions and work life.
According to Boz, psoriasis manifests itself through red lesions, intense itching, and at times plaque formations that can merge together. She added that the disease progresses in flare-ups, the causes of which are often difficult to determine.
The actress also expressed her belief that psoriasis may be connected to gut health, which is why she places great importance on the detox process. She shared that improving digestive health could help ease skin problems and that she has learned many new things throughout this journey.
“I Have Chosen My Clothes According to This Since I Was 15”
Reflecting on her teenage years, Müge Boz said that she has been unable to wear short skirts and has often preferred long-sleeved clothing even during the summer. She described the constant need to explain her condition as exhausting and referred to psoriasis as a “highly social disease”.
Boz concluded by saying that her purpose in sharing this video was not only to tell her own story, but also to offer hope to people struggling with skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. She stated that by sharing her experiences, she wanted others to feel that they are not alone.
