Ahmet Çakar Apologized to Hadise and Asked for Forgiveness
Ahmet Çakar, a sports commentator and former football referee, publicly apologized to the famous singer Hadise after being found at fault by the court due to the remarks he had previously made about her. Çakar also asked for her forgiveness.
Following the conclusion of the legal process, Çakar stated that the court had ruled his statements to be wrongful, prompting him to issue a public apology.
The Controversy Began with Offensive Remarks
The controversy dates back to late 2024. On December 15, 2024, Hadise appeared on a YouTube program where she spoke openly about her private life and past relationships, comments that quickly drew widespread attention.
After these statements, Ahmet Çakar targeted the singer in another program, using harsh language and describing her as “rude” and “ill-mannered,” while claiming she was a bad role model for young people. His remarks, in which he referred to Hadise as “ignorant, kezban, and populist,” sparked strong reactions on social media.
50,000 TRY Moral Compensation Lawsuit
Hadise stated that these remarks constituted an attack on her personal rights and filed a 50,000 Turkish lira moral compensation lawsuit. The case was heard at the Beykoz Civil Court of First Instance.
The court ultimately ruled in favor of Hadise and ordered Ahmet Çakar to pay the moral compensation along with legal interest.
Official Apology from Ahmet Çakar
After the court’s decision, Ahmet Çakar shared the following statement on his social media account:
“Due to the words I used toward Hadise, one of Türkiye’s most beloved artists, I was found at fault by the court. The judicial ruling is correct. Sometimes criticism goes beyond its purpose. Hadise, please forgive me; I sincerely apologize to you and your loved ones.”
In his statement, Çakar emphasized his respect for the court’s decision and acknowledged that criticism can sometimes exceed ethical and professional boundaries. This move was viewed by some as an example of taking responsibility for wrongful statements.
As of now, Hadise has not issued a new statement regarding this apology.
