Kamuran Akkor: I Won’t Say That Being a Woman Is Difficult
Kamuran Akkor, one of the most respected names in Turkish music, made sincere statements about both her private life and her upcoming projects. The veteran artist, who has been on stage for more than 60 years, spoke openly about everything from how she maintains her physical form to her planned collaborations with the younger generation.
According to journalist Çetin Kan, Kamuran Akkor was spotted in Nişantaşı, where she shared candid insights into her new artistic projects as well as personal aspects of her life. Despite decades of experience, she continues to approach her career with the same passion and discipline.
The 76-year-old artist, who draws attention with her unchanged physique over the years, summarized the secret of staying in shape with the following words:
“I swim during the summer, and in winter I go for regular walks. I pay great attention to my diet. The foundation of everything is discipline, hard work, and an organized lifestyle.”
Emphasizing that she has never taken a break from music, Kamuran Akkor shared exciting news with her fans, announcing that she is currently in the preparation stage of one or two new songs.
Confirming her upcoming collaboration with the successful young artist Semicenk, Kamuran Akkor stated:
“We have a beautiful duet project, and we will bring it to life very soon.”
Kamuran Akkor also spoke about Demet Özdemir, who recently attended one of her performances, praising the famous actress with warm words:
“We were already fans of her through her TV series. She is very kind, sincere, and her voice is beautiful as well. She is a truly wonderful person.”
Sharing emotional memories from the past, Kamuran Akkor also remembered Bergen with heartfelt words:
“We met while working in Ankara. She was a very sweet girl with a beautiful voice. May she rest in peace.”
Touching on the difficulties and traumatic experiences that female artists may face, Kamuran Akkor emphasized the importance of living cautiously, saying:
“This is life; no matter how careful you are, sometimes difficulties become unavoidable.”
